Moving into 2024, our focus will still be on our junior age groups (U7 – U13). In 2023 we had up to 100 registered players, and our goal for 2024 is to grow that figure to 150 players, which we feel is the capacity for our fields. Last year we launched an U15 age group and which had 26 registered players and this year we have started an U17 age group for the boys in the U15 squad that will be turning 16 this year.

We have a number of girls in our academy that are currently playing in the boys teams. This has actually been an advantage for them as it has made them more physical and competitive and as a result we have had 6 of our girls make the KZN U13 girls team. Moving forward we would love to start up a girls only team to compete in the ladies league.

We also believe there is a gap in the market for toddlers learning to play the game. We currently offer this service to the Redwood preschoolers during the week, but if opened to other schools we could attract a lot more players that would then feed into our main academy.
