Unlike most clubs that exist to compete in the league and base their success on where they finish, at United this is not our main focus area. When the league is the focus, it becomes a win at all costs ethos and when coaches start to focus on results only, it is normally at the expense of the players development. We see the league not only as an opportunity for our players to put into practice what they have learned, but also to showcase to other clubs what makes us different – our values and ethos. There may be times when we field weaker players at the risk of losing a match. We are comfortable with as this aligns with one of our core values – inclusivity. Our current association is with the DCLFA We have chosen this path as most of the other clubs that are part of this league are close to us in terms of location.
